A dual-fuel system combines an electric heat pump with a propane or natural-gas furnace, giving your home two different ways to heat while also providing central air conditioning.

The Hisense heat pump can handle much of the heating demand during milder conditions while also providing efficient summer cooling. Inside the home, the heat-pump coil is installed above the furnace, and the furnace blower moves conditioned air through the existing duct system.

As outdoor conditions, system settings and operating requirements change, the system can automatically transition from the heat pump to the furnace when needed.

This allows the heat pump to do the work when it makes sense, while keeping the furnace available for dependable backup and higher-demand heating.
